Punjab police have booked Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, her husband Captain (retd) Safdar and several party workers following a clash outside the National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) office in Lahore.
The police registered a case after NAB filed a case against them in Chuhang police station.The PML-N leaders and supporters have been booked under sections relating to interfering in official duty and violent acts.
Meanwhile, the PML-N workers who were arrested on Tuesday following the clashes were sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
On Tuesday, when Nawaz reached the NAB office to appear and record her statement in the investigation into illegal acquisition of 3,500 kanal of land in Raiwind, PML-N workers and police clashed outisde resulting in the injury of several people.
The PML-N vice-president claimed that policemen threw stones at her car which smashed her windshield. Due to the clashes, NAB postponed Nawaz's appearance, upon which Nawaz left.
