LETTER: This is apropos a Business Recorder editorial "When Maryam Nawaz went to NAB" carried by the newspaper yesterday. In my view, the newspaper has raised the most pertinent questions in its comment over the issue. According to it, for example, "Firstly, why NAB could not obtain answers to their queries in writing from Maryam Nawaz instead of asking her come and reply in person? Her written reply could have been verified from the federal Board of Revenue that has her tax returns. The need for her physical appearance would only be necessary if her reply is not supported by her tax declarations..."
The accountability watchdog seemed to have thrown up an opportunity for Maryam to create a significant impression of her presence outside NAB's office where she successfully made a statement of strength. Maryam should be thankful to NAB.
