KARACHI: Shariq Vohra, Saqib Goodluck and Shamsul Islam are likely to be elected unopposed as president, senior vice president and vice president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the year 2020-21 respectively.
Leader of Businessmen Group (BMG) and former President KCCI, Siraj Kasim Teli has nominated Shariq Vohra, Saqib Goodluck and Shamsul Islam as next president, senior vice president and vice president of the chamber respectively.
All the fifteen nominated candidates of BMG Siraj Kasim Teli have already been elected unopposed as member of managing committee of the KCCI for the year 2020-22.
The successful candidates include Muhammad Saqib, M. Shariq Vohra, Shamsul Islam Khan, Mohammad Hanif Ayoob, Qazi Zahid Hussain, Muhammad Hilal Sheikh, Muhammad Ali, Sheikh Mudassar Rafiq Magoon, Tanveer Ahmed Barry, Jawed Siddiq, Chaudhry Muhammad Zahid Bashir, Ahmed Azeem Alavi, Muhammad Iqbal Khamisani, Zaheer Ahmed and Faiz Ahmed.
Managing committee of Karachi Chambers comprises of 32 members and every year 15 members on completion of two years tenure get retired. There is no opposition member of KCCI managing committee of 32 members.
Those 15 members of the managing committee who has completed two years as members of the managing committee are going to retire on September 30, 2020 includes Mohammad Hanif, Hafeez Aziz, Shahid Ismail, Waseem-ur-Rahman, Shamoon Zaki, Faisal Naeem, Junaid Esmail Makda, Shakeel-ur-Rahman, Asif Younus (Sumsum), Hasan Sheikh, M. Haroon Qaiser, Sohail Ahmed, Shoaib Sultan, Humayun Muhammad and Mohammad Ammar Shaikh.
