"Mentally-ill" man stabs 10 family members to death in Sukkur

(Karachi) A man killed ten of his family members including four children and seven women with a sharp weapon in Sukkur’s Pano Aqil area, media reported on Wednesday.

As per details, accused Abdul Wahab, who is said to be mentally-ill, stabbed to death 10 members of his family in village Halejvi Sharif.

Seven women and three children are among the dead. Soon after the incident, police reached the spot and arrested Abdul Wahab along with his three sons. The police said the weapon used in the killings has been recovered.

The motive behind the murders is still unknown. However, investigation into the incident is under way.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the matter and ordered inquiry into the incident. He sought a detailed report from police chief.

The CM also directed the police and the administration to extend their full support to the bereaved family.

Earlier in July, a man stabbed his mother to death and wounded his father in Khodrazai area, Nowshera.

Police said the injured man filed an FIR in Pabbi police station, saying he along with another son was sitting in his house, when the accused, a drug addict, stabbed his mother with a knife, killing her on the spot.

He said the accused also attacked him and wounded him seriously.
