ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi will kick off the third parliamentary year of the National Assembly with his presidential address to the joint sitting of both the houses of the Parliament today (Thursday) at 5pm.
In his address to the joint session, President Dr Arif Alvi will highlight the two years performance of the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The economy, foreign affairs, Covid-19, Kashmir issue are major aspects of the domestic situation from the perspective of the government, which will prominently figure in the address of the president.
A special security arrangement has been made for the presidential address.
According to a notification issued by the National Assembly Secretariat, the President Islamic Republic of Pakistan has summoned both the Houses of the Parliament (Majlis-e- Shoora) to assemble together in the Parliament House, Islamabad on Thursday 20th August, 2020 at 5pm.
The opposition is likely to raise the issues relating to inflation, economy, Kashmir, foreign policy, and others in the joint-sitting of the Parliament.
The session is expected to continue for one day, and it would be prorogued after the address of the president.
