KARACHI: The Met Office on Saturday said the monsoon persists over eastern Sindh with another low pressure area prevailing over central India.
Under its influence of these systems widespread rain/thundershowers with a few heavy to very heavy falls are likely to occur in Tharparker, Badin, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Thatta, Sanghar, Hyderabad and Karachi till Aug 25, it said.
In the next 24 hours: Rain-wind-thundershowers are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lower Sindh and northeast Balochistan, while at isolated places in northeast Punjab, Kashmir and its adjoining areas.
Past 24 hour weather: Rain/wind-thunderstorm occurred in Sindh, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gujrat, Kalat, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.
Maximum rainfall was recorded in Karachi's Saadi Town 37 mm, Nazimabad, Saddar 20 mm, each, North Karachi 18 mm, Sarjani Town 16 mm, Keamari 12 mm, Faisal Base, Masroor Base 8 mm, each, Gulshan-e-Hadid, University Road, Old Airport 7 mm, each Landhi 4 mm, Jinnah Terminal 3 mm).
Tando Jam 18 mm, Chhor 17 mm, Hyderabad 16 mm, Islamkot 13 mm, Diplo and Chhacharo 11 mm, each, Thatta, Mirpur Khas 7 mm, each, Klui 4 mm, Sakrand 3 mm, Mithi 1 mm.
Balakot 23 mm, Patan 7 mm, Parachinar 5 mm, Peshawar Airport 1 mm.
Bagrote 16 mm. Kalat 13 mm. Muzaffarabad (City 9 mm, Airport 4 mm), Garhi Dupatta 1 mm. Gujrat 1 mm.
Maximum temperature was witnessed in Nokkundi 44 degree Celsius, Dalbandin 43 degree Celsius, Turbat 42 degree Celsius and Lasbella 41 degree Celsius.
