Incidents of theft, car lifting on the rise in Capital

ISLAMABAD: The incidents of various kinds of theft and car lifting witnessed an upward trend in the federal capital as over five cases of theft and six cases of carjacking were reported to the various police stations in the city during the last week.

According to the data gathered by Business Recorder, the hotspots for criminal gangs were within the limits of Industrial Area Police Station and Lohi Bher.

In the same period, a man identified as Saifullah, a contractor, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Sector G-13, while another, Mohammad Fakir died after being hit by a truck in Sector I-11.

Two cases each of auto theft and one case of robbery were reported to the Industrial Area Police Station during last week.

Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number BAN-175 worth Rs70,000 belonging to Maqsood Ali, and lifted a car bearing registration number RQF-645 belonging to Muhammad Arif worth Rs800,000.

Another, Asim Qadir informed Industrial Area Police Station that unidentified robbers stole gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth Rs150,000.

Sana Anwar informed Khosar Police Station that a foreign citizen stole gold ornament and other valuables from her house.

Rozi Khan lodged a complaint with Tarnol Police Station that the accused Sultan Zareen allegedly stole gold ornament and a case from his house.

During the last week, one case each of auto theft was reported to Karachi Company and Golra police stations.

Allaudin lodged a complaint with Lohi Bher Police Station that unidentified robbers stole gold ornament, cash and other valuables worth Rs1,100,000 from his house.
