The country is likely to receive another spell of monsoon rains from Friday, says the met office. It said another spell of moderate to heavy rains have been predicted to hit upper parts of the country from Friday evening.
"A monsoon low lies over central parts of India and its adjoining areas. It extends up to mid-tropospheric level. As a result, the monsoon currents are penetrating into north eastern parts of the country, and seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan with its trough extending southeast ward," it said.
Intermittent thundershower is expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur divisions from Tuesday to Thursday. While scattered thundershower with isolated heavy falls is expected over upper and central Punjab from Friday to Monday, it added.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to receive intermittent thundershower at isolated places from Tuesday to Thursday. While scattered thundershower is likely over upper and central parts of the province from Friday to Monday.
Weather in Balochistan is expected to remain mainly hot and dry in most parts of the province, however rain/dust-thunderstorm is likely to hit isolated places of in northeast parts of the province on Wednesday.
It said mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the Sindh province. However, rain/dust-thunderstorm is likely to hit isolated places of lower Sindh from Tuesday (evening/night) and Wednesday.
Intermittent thundershower is likely to hit Kashmir at scattered places from Tuesday to Thursday. Scattered thundershower with few heavy falls is expected in Kashmir from Friday to Monday, the office said.
Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to receive more rains at isolated places from Friday to Monday.
