The digital library system is a great gift of the modern era for the research scholars, teachers and students and also for the knowledge seeking persons.
This was stated by University of Sindh Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nazir A Mughal while speaking at the closing ceremony of one-day workshop on Digital Library and its effectives usage organised by the Quality Enhancement Cell and SU Department of Psychology in collaboration with Pakistan Psychological Association on Tuesday.
Teachers, students and researchers of the University including two teachers from Quaid Awam University Nawabshah attended the workshop. The VC highly appreciated the initiatives of the Higher Education Commission for the research culture in the universities and facilities for the scholars, and invited the scholars to take advantage of the available digital library for research and knowledge.
Earlier, while presiding over the inaugural session of the workshop, Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh said that digital library was most important system for the research scholars for their research.
She said HEC launched its digital library programme in the year 2005, adding that HEC through digital library programme provided access to more than 25,000 e-journals and 50,000 e-books.
She pointed out that more than 100 computers were available in University's library to facilitate the scholars from the digital library.
