Civic issues: Kamal urges federal govt to intervene

Updated 27 Aug, 2020

KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday said the problems of this city can never be resolved until the rulers are not awaken from deep slumber of negligence.

The Sindh Chief Minister has been trying to give a false impression for the past one month that he has made Karachi much better during the last 10 years than it was before and insists that his government is performing very well.

In these circumstances, even if one wants to give sincere advice for the betterment of this city, he can't.

The federal government should intervene and ensure three things in Karachi and Sindh. The first is devolving powers from provinces to district in line with the 18th constitutional Amendment.

Second, ensure the launch of PFC Awards from the provincial governments under the pattern of NFC Awards.

Third and last work is to restore Karachi as a district with towns to run administrative affairs so that the unity of the city is maintained and to ensure administrative link in the city. PSP chief expressed these views while addressing a meeting of Pak Sarzameen Students' Federation (PSSF) at Pakistan House. President PSSF Engineer Syed Usman was also present on the occasion.
