Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar has said that he intends to introduce one window operation in Special Economic Zones (SEZ’s) in order to facilitate the local and foreign investors.
Talking to local media, the minister said that the government is utilizing all available resources to revive SEZ’s and develop underprivileged areas of the country.
Hammad was of the view that the government is taking practical steps to make them instruments of industrial production, economic growth, export promotion, and employment generation.
He said the government has made serious efforts to promote tourism as an industry in the country to generate revenue and also provide employment opportunities to youth.Talking about the 'China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, Hammad said that Pakistan has successfully completed the first phase of CPEC and has entered into the second phase, which also involves economic zones, which will increase economic activities and generate massive job opportunities in Pakistan, he added.
Lauding the performance of the CPEC Authority, he said measures must be taken to improve its working as well as capacity.
Hammad further said that the construction of dams was also a priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government to ensure a stable supply of energy and food security.
