Punjab prepares biometric system for property sale, purchase

  • With the upcoming biometric project of the Revenue Department of Punjab, citizens, landowners will be able to buy and sell property from the comforts of their home without going to the property registration (registrar) offices using the modern biometric system.

Using technology as a tool to bud out corruption and bribery practices, the Punjab Revenue Department has prepared a biometric system for the sale and purchase of the property.

With the upcoming biometric project of the Revenue Department of Punjab, citizens, landowners will be able to buy and sell property from the comforts of their home without going to the property registration (registrar) offices using the modern biometric system. Transfer of owned land and the individual inheritance will also be possible.

As per details, it has been decided to start this modern system with private-public partnership.Individuals with good reputations and companies will be issued licenses in the style of stamp sellers with regular heavy financial security. Under the biometric system, NADRA and Property Registrar will be directly interlinked.

These companies will be present in every union council, markets and will be provided biometric system with the help of which property registries, declarations will be possible.
