KARACHI: The Karachi Port handled 166,213 tonnes of cargo comprising 128,325 tonnes of import cargo and 37,888 tonnes of export cargo including nil loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargos of 128,325 tonnes comprised of 70,200 tonnes of containerised cargo; 03 tonnes of bulk cargo; 5,027 tonnes of rock phosphate and 53,095 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 37,888 tonnes comprised of 27,294 tonnes of containerised cargo and 10,594 tonnes of clinkers.
There were seven ships namely Northern Dedication, Southampton Express, Diamond Express, MOL Globe, Jipro Neftis, Hanne Danica and Haydn carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. Greenwich Bridge, Ever Decent, Southampton Express, Jipro Neftis, Oinoussian Star, Bomar Lynx, Navig-8 Sirius, Captain Karam and Hanne Danica carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, rock phosphate and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There is one ship namely Navig-8 Sirius carrying chemical expected to sail on Monday.
There are two vessels viz. Xin Hong Kong and Sun Nine carrying containers and clinkers respectively due to arrive on Monday while seven more vessels viz. Cosco Belgium, Ever Ursula, Saxonia, Szczecin Trader, Dubai Charm, Bow Tribute and Hibicus carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and clinkers respectively are expected to arrive on Tuesday.
PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 133,756 tonnes comprising of 75,636 tonnes of import cargo and 58,120 tonnes of export cargo including 3,835 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 75,636 tonnes includes 33,629 tonnes of coal; 9,475 tonnes of LNG; 8,516 tonnes of chemical and 24,016 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 58,120 tonnes includes 9,271 tonnes of crude oil and 48,849 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,835 containers comprising of 1,264 containers import and 2,571 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were four ships namely Xin Hong Kong, Safmarine Nyassa, Lusil and Sea Hazel carrying containers, LNG and crude oil respectively sail out to sea on Monday morning, while three more ships namely MOL Globe, Jie Yue and Gulf Mews carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, soyabean, chemical, LNG and palm kernel respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as nineteen one vessels viz. Northern Javelin, Han Hui, KSL Don Yang, Huang Song, IVS Naruo, Port Canton, Pan Crocus, Nord Magellon, Elim Peace, IVS Swinley Forest, Ernden-IV, Kamari, Hasan, BW Acorn, Gas Athena, Alpine Percefone, Nord Vanus, Al-Soor-II and Falicity carrying containers, general cargo, steel coil, coal, cement, chemical, canola, LPG, gasoline, gas oil and furnace oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six ships viz. Northern Javelin, Port Canton, Pan Crocus, Gas Athena, Alpine Percefone and Fortune Glory carrying containers, coal, LPG, gas oil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
There was one ship namely Fortune Glory carrying palm oil due to arrive on Monday.
There are two ships namely MSC Pina and Maersk Pittspurgh carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
