(Karachi) Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Karachi on September 4 (Friday) and he will announce various development projects for the city under the Karachi Transformation Plan.

Addressing a press conference after cabinet meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that the people of Karachi have been passing through tough times for a long time. "They have been facing a number of problems but it seems the Sindh government is not serious in addressing the issues," he stated.

Faraz maintained that the PM wants all issues related to the mega city resolved to facilitate its residents. "We need the support of provincial government in resolving problems of Karachi."

The information minister highlighted that all the uplift projects in Karachi will be undertaken after taking the Sindh government and stakeholders on board.

Earlier, the prime minister directed that the Karachi Transformation Plan be finalised this week in consultation with all stakeholders so that the process of a formal approval and implementation phase for a permanent solution to Karachi's problems could begin.

He said that the development of the country is linked to the development of Karachi. The premier said the government can't turn a blind eye to the plight of the people and the federation will play its full role for the solution and development of Karachi's problems.
