Publishing Ethics & Scholarly Communication: ILMA varsity holds international moot

KARACHI: ILMA University organized a groundbreaking Virtual International Conference on Publishing Ethics & Scholarly Communication.

This auspicious mega event was arranged from the platform of Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC).

This was a monumental milestone accomplished by the University as it invited prominent keynote speakers from across the globe.

Vice-Chancellor, ILMA University, Prof Dr Manzoor uz Zafar Dawood unveiled the widely acclaimed event with a welcome note followed by the well-researched works of the eminent keynote speakers.

These distinguished personalities spoke in-depth about the paramount areas. Dr Nadia Tahir, MD Higher Education Commission Pakistan presented on Research Publishing & Our Responsibilities; Dr Dilip Nandkeolyar, Professor Commonwealth University spoke on Research Ethics; Dr A Usman, Associate Member Committee of Publishing Ethics (COPE) propounded on Publishing Ethics; Dr A Moustafa, Member Creative Commons CCGN revealed the Best Practices in Scholarly Communication; Dr Denis Ukashov, Professor, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Bangkok created awareness about How to Spot Predatory Publishing; Aijaz A Sheikh, Associate Editor, Digital Business (Elsevier), University of Jyvaskyla, FIN propagated on Editorial Misconducts and Dr Marguerite Wotto, Professor, University De Quebec Montreal, Canada informed about Few basics to Avoid Predatory Journals.

As stated by one of the esteemed keynote speakers, "Publishing Ethics & Scholarly Communication need to be given due importance for the quality enhancement to occur in the higher education sector and research to flourish."

This magnificent International Conference was moderated by Dr MI Subhani, Conference Chair & Director ORIC and Syed Kashif Rafi, Co-Chair, Registrar, ILMA University and culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by Conference Chair. It was indeed a progressive stride in education led by ILMA University.
