Crimes on the rise in capital

ISLAMABAD: Over five cases of motor vehicle theft, three cases of robbery, and three cases of kidnapping were reported to the city's different police stations during the last week.

According to the data gathered by Business Recorder, criminal activity was mostly reported within the limits of Karachi Company, Shehzad Town, Koral, and Kohsar police stations.

During the last week, Karachi Company Police Station registered one case of auto theft and a case of kidnapping.

Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number GTR-5852 belonging to Muhammad Amin worth Rs80,000.

Another person, Akash lodged a complaint with Karachi Company Police Station that the accused, Sarwar Masih had kidnapped his wife.

In the same period Shehzad Town police station registered one case each of kidnapping and theft.

Fazal Kareem lodged a complaint with Shehzad Town Police Station that some unidentified persons stole batteries from his car.

Wife of a senior SECP official Sajjid Gondal lodged a complaint with Shehzad Town Police Station on Friday that her husband was missing since Thursday evening, and he had been abducted by unidentified men. Police have registered a first information report (FIR) on her complaint and started an investigation. Gondal's car, his family and police said, was found outside the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) on Park Road, located in Chak Shahzad.

Motor vehicle thieves stole a bike bearing registration number RIK-1564 worth Rs40,000 belonging to Adeel Sher from the limits of Koral Police Station.

During another incident, two unidentified armed persons snatched a mobile phone from Bilal Shah in the limits of Kohsar Police Station.

Auto thieves lifted a car bearing registration number ANL-831 belonging to Saeed Jawad worth Rs2,900,000 from the limits of Industrial Area Police Station during the last week.

Abdullah lodged a complaint with Shalimar Police Station that a carjacker stole his car bearing registration number AAS-052 worth Rs1,700,000.
