The government will decide today about reopening of educational institutions that were closed for the last six months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The federal and the provincial governments will hold a final meeting about reopening educations institutions across the country on September 15.
The meeting will also finalize the SOPs to be adopted by educational institutions once they reopen.
Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood who will chair today's meeting, earlier said that in the first phase, the universities and higher classes would be reopened and if the intensity of the pandemic remains low then primary classes would also be opened.
So far, Pakistan has recorded 298,903 cases and 6,345 deaths. Currently, there are 6,542 active cases across the nation.
