LAHORE: At least six persons were killed and four other sustained injuries when roof of a single-storey house collapsed in Taxali Gate area here on late Monday night.

According to details, roof of a dilapidated house in Taxali Gate area of Lahore caved in, burying several people under the debris. Rescue teams reached the spot and retrieve ten persons, including three women and two children, from the rubble in injured condition.

Rescue teams shifted the injured to Mayo Hospital where six of them died during treatment. The deceased were identified as Javed, 60, his wife Amna, four-year-old Ayyan, two-year-old Shujaat, Zaigham and Hsssan. Three women are under treatment at the Mayo Hospital.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar while showing his grief over the loss of the lives has sought a detailed report from commissioner Lahore.
