KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block all the offending, obscene and blasphemous material available on different websites in Pakistan.

The SHC issued these orders after a petition was filed in the court against the website carrying blasphemous content.

According to a written order of the court, petitioner filed interlocutory application along with printout of a photograph posted at ww.tumbex.com and argued that this photograph insulted the religion of lslam and deliberately attempted to outrage religious feelings of Muslims and also desecration of the Holy Quran.

Since the counsel for the PTA, the deputy director law (PTA) as well as the director of licensing (PTA) were present in some other case, therefore, keeping in view the exigency and grave importance of the matter, the court waived notice, and copy of application was supplied to them in the first half and were asked to seek proper instructions immediately for blocking this offending and blasphemous website outraging and defiling the religious feelings of every Muslim.
