PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to KP CM on Information and Local Governments Kamran Bangash has said the purpose of the suspension of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service is the protection of human life while a team from the manufacturing company has already been arrived from China to find out reasons of fire eruption.
Talking to the media in Hayatabad here on Thursday, he said a concerned Chinese team is monitoring the service and will submit a technical report soon.
The special assistant to KP CM said the BRT service would be restored after getting complete clearance.
Talking about critical attitude towards the BRT bus service, he said they are fully aware of the scathing criticism over temporary suspension of the service. However, he ruled out any compromise on the protection of the general public.
To a query regarding causes of fire eruption in BRT buses, he said according to initial reports there is some technical issue in some buses.
Meanwhile, the ANP provincial president Aimal Wali Khan has demanded probe into incidents of fire eruption followed by suspension of the service for one month and alleged corruption in the mega project.
In a statement, he said in one month seven incidents of fire eruption in BRT buses were reported which was matter of grave concern, adding that the provincial government should probe these incidents and facts should be made public.
