The companies in Pakistan filed the highest amount of tax for the Year ended in June 30 2018, revealed Federal Board of Revenue ( FBR) tax directory.
According to the Tax Directory Analysis for the Year ended June 30, 2018, companies in Pakistan paid approximately 56 percent of the total tax collection, followed by non-salaried individuals at 21pc, and salaried individuals at 14pc.
The lowest proportion of taxes for the year ending June 2018 came from the association of partnerships (AoPs) that stood at 8.5pc of the total taxes collected. While companies contributed to the highest proportion of the taxes, they form only 1.56pc of the total tax filers in Pakistan.
Non-salaried individuals make up for 54pc of tax filers, salaried individuals make up for 42pc, and the AoPs make up for two percent of the total tax filers.
Furthermore, as per the residential status-wise filers revealed that resident filers stood at 97.76pc, whereas, non-resident filers were 2.24 percent.
A total of 2,788,335 returns were filed by residents during tax year 2018, whereas 64,014 non-residents filed returns during this period.
