KARACHI: Karachi Administrator Iftikhar Ali Shallwani said on Saturday that beatification of footpaths and roundabouts across the city would be done, and monuments and street libraries would also be established for the promotion of education and culture.
He said this while reviewing beatification works around Clifton Bridge here. Shallwani said that the purpose of establishing street libraries was to make books our friends and partners. He said that if the new generation made books its friend, we would be regarded as an educated society.
The administrator said that establishment of a "Chips Corner" was also amongst the beatification projects around the Clifton Bridge so that the people could have an environment to relax themselves.
He said that slogans in different local languages would also be written to express the love for our beloved Karachi which would give a positive impact. Shallwani said that we have to make Karachi's image better by restoring our rich traditions.
