KARACHI: The Karachi Port handled 136,923 tonnes of cargo comprising 105,332 tonnes of import cargo and 31,591 tonnes of export cargo including 4,894 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargos of 105,332 tonnes comprised of 26,438 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,201 tonnes of bulk cargo; 9,226 tonnes of DAP; 17,184 tonnes of wheat; 1,764 tonnes of chemical and 40,519 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 31,591 tonnes comprised of 31,591 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,894 containers comprising of 1,675 containers import and 3,219 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 465 of 20’s and 601 of 40’s loaded while nil of 20’s and 04 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 681 of 20’s and 535 of 40’s loaded containers while 654 of 20’s and 407 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Cosco Aden, Diyala, Ulanga, Thorsky and AL-Soor-II carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. MOL Grandeur, Hyundai Goodwill, Ulanga, OOCL California, CMA CGM Racine, MT Lahore and New Horizon carrying containers, oil tanker and fertilizer respectively currently at the berths.
There are three ships namely CMA CGM Racine, Cosco Rotterdam and Incredible Blue carrying containers and DAP respectively expected to sail on Tuesday.
There are two vessels viz. Hong Kong Express and Xin Xiang Hai carrying containers and clinker respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while six vessels viz. YM Cosmos, Amagi Galaxy, DS Cougar, Jag Aanchal, Mohar and Rowan-3 carrying containers, oil tankers, cement, mogas and clinker respectively are expected due to arrive on Wednesday.
PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 132,442 tonnes comprising 113,757 tonnes of import cargo and 18,685 tonnes of export cargo including 3,160 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 113,757 tonnes tonnes includes 46,110 tonnes of coal; 3,518 tonnes of palm oil; 1,007 tonnes of gas oil; 3,000 tonnes of chemical; 6,810 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,660 tonnes of LPG and 47,652 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 18,685 tonnes includes 6,297 tonnes of cement and 12,388 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,160 containers comprising of 2,508 containers import and 652 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely Hyundai Mercury carrying containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships namely Conti Conlesia, Star Lotus and Gas Zeus carrying containers, coal and LPG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, cement, chemical, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen vessels viz. APL New York, Sea Rider, Kmarin Bosan, SBI Hermes, Josco Fuz Hou, SC Falcon, Banglar Ag Radoot, Gas Amazon, Nord Venus, Leader, Adamos-1, Al-Soor-II, Victory, Melody and Anligani carrying containers, coal, chemical, veg oil, LPG, gasoline, gas oil, furnace oil and palm kernel respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five ships viz. APL New York, Sea Rider, Josco Fuz Hou, SC Falcon and Golar Snow carrying containers, coal, chemical and LNG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely Maersk Sebarok carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday while another ship namely Golar Snow carrying LNG due to arrive on Wednesday.
