KARACHI: Groundbreaking ceremony of Bahria University Dental College and Hospital was held here.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Upon his arrival he was received by the Rector of Bahria University, Vice
Admiral (Retd.) Kaleem Shaukat.
Later, the chief guest was briefed about the salient features of the project.
Bahria University is developing a health sciences complex at the Bahria University Medical and Dental College (BUM&DC), Karachi.
In the first phase of the health sciences complex, the Bahria University Dental College and Hospital would be constructed.
The second phase includes the Pakistan Navy Nursing College and Medical Training School. During the last phase, Allied Health Sciences and College of Physical Therapy will also be established.
In pursuance of the Chief of the Naval Staff’s vision to promote quality education, the Bahria University Dental College and Hospital will provide quality oral healthcare facilities and interdisciplinary research in different areas.
Additionally, it will contribute to producing dental professionals, postgraduates and dental paramedic staff of international standards.
The ceremony was attended by the Director-General of Medical Services (Navy), Surgeon Rear Admiral Ch. M Qamar UlHaq Noor, Director-General of BUM&DC Rear Admiral Imtiaz Ahmad, senior naval officers and faculty members.—PR
