One of the most eagerly awaited celebrity babies of the year is finally here as British Pakistani singer Zayn Malik and Palestinian American supermodel Gigi Hadid welcomed a baby girl over the last weekend.

"Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love," wrote Hadid on Instagram as she announced the news on Thursday with a picture of little hands.

"Our baby girl is here, healthy and beautiful," wrote Malik on his own Instagram, with a picture of the little one's hand in his own tattooed one. "To try put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, and thankful for the life we will have together x".

The on-again, off-again couple got back together earlier this year in January and rumours of the couple expecting a child together began floating in April. Hadid's mother Yolanda confirmed the news to Dutch media in May.
