Tariq Malik assumes charge as chairman Nadra

Tariq Malik, Deputy Chair-man, National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra), on promotion assumed charge as Chairman, NADRA on Thursday. He was voted in strategic management role as Deputy Chairman by board members of National Database & Registration Authority four years ago, when he was leading Network Directorate of NADRA as General Manager.
He also led NADRA Technologies in the capacity of CEO. He brings 20 years of strategic management experience in implementing high profile citizen centric technology solutions in Pakistan, Kenya, Nigeria, Bangladesh, United States of America, and Bahrain.
He is well-known in the project and technology management as a successful CIO, Senior Consultant Information Systems, Speaker, Writer, Trainer and Researcher of Information Technology in Public Sector. Prior to joining NADRA, he worked as Chief of Technology in the largest county of State of Michigan, USA.
Malik did his masters degree in International Management from Heidelberg, Germany and holds M.Sc. degree in Computer Sciences from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad as well. His studies took him to places like John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Massachusetts, and Stanford University, USA.
Recently, he won the 'CIO of the Year' award. Panel of judges consisting of eminent computer scientists, IT experts and technology gurus had selected Malik for the said award by dint of his contribution in transforming Nadra from an identity card issuing authority to a profitable international business organisation. It is rolling out cutting edge biometric technology solutions, which results in good governance.
Malik had also won "ID People Award 2011" conferred by ID World EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) in Abu Dhabi, and the distinguished "ID Outstanding Achievement Award 2009" of ID World Congress based in Milan, Italy and "Excellence Award 2002 Michigan, USA" for implementing Innovative citizen centric e-government solutions.-PR
