ISLAMABAD: A team of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has initiated on-site audit of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) for the first time. Member Gas Muhammad Arif along with OGRA experts visited the SNGPL where they studied internal business control, systems and procedures adopted by the SNGPL relating to the regulated activity.
The team reviewed and studied internal working of the SNGPL, and focused on the gas company's measures to control UFG losses. The SNGPL extended all possible cooperation, and shared whatever information was requested by the regulators. A week-long meeting was wrapped up on Friday, which was attended by senior managements of the OGRA and the SNGPL, headed by the deputy managing director SNGPL.
The SNGPL deputy managing director along with his senior management warmly welcomed Member Gas OGRA and termed the visit an excellent opportunity for effective interaction with the regulator.
The DMG SNGPL explained that the OGRA officers were given detailed briefings on workings and operations of various departments of the SNGPL. Keen interest was shown by the OGRA representatives to get first-hand knowledge on various operational aspects of the natural gas supply chain.
The member gas assured that his resolve is for effective and objective regulation to balance the interest of all stakeholders. He said this while addressing the senior management of the SNGPL, during the visit of OGRA team to the SNGPL head office, Lahore. The visit was much appreciated and it was resolved that such sessions should be held more frequently to compliment mutual efforts for larger public interest.
