Govt will enforce new reforms to improve standard of health facilities in Peshawar: PM Imran

(Karachi) Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government will enforce new reforms to improve standard of health facilities in Peshawar.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Surgical and Allied Services Block of Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar on Monday, he said: "I hope that government hospitals will become role models."

He said that in the past, the quality of government hospitals used to be good but the later regimes neglected their importance. The PM said that reforms are underway to improve hospitals in Peshawar.

While quoting the example of China, he said Beijing left the world behind on the basis of merit. Imran Khan said that no system can succeed in the world without merit. "Institutions which lack system of accountability do not prosper."

He said that the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf government is working hard to improve the lives of the poor.

The prime minister also inaugurated the newly constructed 500 bed Medical and Allied Block in Lady Reading Hospital.
