At least five people were killed and two others were injured on Tuesday in a blast in the Akbarpura area of Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to local media reports, the explosion occurred in a market situated along the Kabul River. District Police Officer (DPO) Najamal Hassan said that some people were collecting scrap material from the stone which included explosive material that detonated when someone picked it.
The police and officials of Rescue 1122 immediately reached the site and injured people have been shifted to the hospital. Police have cordoned off the area and is investigating the incident.
