ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to reduce the prices of High Speed Diesel (HSD), however, it has maintained the price of other petroleum products at September level in a fortnightly review for October.
Sources said that the government did not accept the working of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) to reduce the petrol price by Rs1.50 per liter; however, it announced to reduce the price of HSD by Rs2.40 per litre.
“No increase in price of petrol and decrease of Rs2.40 per litre in HSD for next 15 days,” was the announcement made in a handout released by Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
After reduction in the price of the HSD, the new price of HSD will be at Rs104.06 per liter, which was Rs106.46 per litre previously.
The prices of petrol, kerosene oil, and light diesel oil remained unchanged.
The OGRA also notified an increase in the price of domestic LPG cylinder by Rs3 per kg ahead of winter, in a monthly review for October.
The price of domestic LPG cylinder of 11.8 kg has increased by Rs34 and commercial cylinders have been increased by Rs130.
Price of LPG cylinder has been increased from Rs117 per kg to Rs120 per kg.
Following an increase in the prices, domestic cylinder is available against Rs1,416 instead of Rs1,382 per cylinder, and commercial cylinder is Rs5,449 instead of Rs5,319.
