ISLAMABAD: The quorum of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has been completed with the appointment of member oil, a seat that has been vacant since April 2020. The Cabinet Division (CD) notified the newly-appointed member (Oil), OGRA on a three-year contract with immediate effect, said a notification of the division.
Zaiulabideen Qureshi has been appointed as member (Oil) under the Cabinet Division for a period of three years with immediate effect and until further order, the notification added.
Earlier, the Federal Cabinet on Sep 29, on a summary of the Cabinet Division has approved the appointment of Qureshi as member (oil), OGRA, whereas, it directed the Cabinet Division to re-advertise the post for the appointment of new chairman OGRA. The post of chairman fell vacant after the expiry of contract of Uzma Adil in July 2020. The candidate, Zainulabideen Qureshi1 was on the top and working as Senior Executive Director OGRA.
Zaiulhaq Mirza of Attock Petroleum and Asim Niazi of Qatar Petroleum were among the other candidates for the post for Member Oil.
