LAHORE: Terming the PML-N a “conspirator league”, Special Assistant to PM on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill said on Saturday that Nawaz Sharif was playing a dangerous game by leveling allegations against the Army.
Talking to the media here on Saturday, Gill said when the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came to power, the country’s economy was a shambles, but Prime Minister Imran Khan worked hard to stabilize the national economy.
He said the Pakistan Army always helped the nation in difficult times.
He said there was no “political threat” to the government from Nawaz Sharif.
He said that “controversial and anti-national statements” of PML-N supremo would harm Pakistan, and its effects would become visible in the coming months.
Shahbaz Gill said that he was against airing Nawaz’s speeches as some of the speeches of the PML-N supremo were not in the national interest.
He accused the Sharif family of working for India.
Gill claimed that Nawaz Sharif refused to meet leaders of the Hurriyat Conference in India, but now he had to answer why he met Indian businessman Sajjan Jindal.
“Can a Pakistani businessman go to India and meet its prime minister?” he asked.
The special assistant to the prime minister further said that when the Pathankot incident took place, Jindal made the same statement which was now Nawaz Sharif’s narrative.
He also asked Nawaz Sharif to explain why security personal were not allowed during a secret meeting with the Indian prime minister in Kathmandu.
Shahbaz Gill said that the enemies wanted to weaken the institutions of Pakistan by making them controversial.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in a statement said that the opposition parties had joined hands just to protect their personal interests and looted wealth.
“The Opposition has no agenda for the people of Pakistan as the rejected elements are not even sincere with each other,” he said.
“The ‘block’ of the opposition parties will soon come to its logical end as these elements are confused while seeing the country going in the right direction.”
He said those who looted the national exchequer could not hoodwink the people now.
The politically conscious people of Pakistan were fully aware of the corrupt faces of these politicians, he said.
“The present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan will clean the country of these political impurities,” he said.
Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan told the media that the objective of the Opposition’s APC was to exert pressure for closure of corruption cases.
He said 410 petitions had been filed against results of the 2013 elections while only 95 petitions were filed in the 2018 elections.
He claimed that worst rigging of the history took place in 2013 elections.
Chohan further said that allegations of rigging were made but no evidence was provided to the Election Commission.
Wherever RTS stopped working, PTI candidates lost the election, he claimed.
He said that Nawaz Sharif made a big mistake by talking about cruise missiles as Dr. Samar Mubarak had answered questions about reverse engineering.
