KARACHI: On Monday, upon market closing, USD continued to lose value against PKR in both interbank and open markets. PKR also continued its upward movement against Euro in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 45 paisas for buying and 55 paisas for selling against USD over last Friday's rates closing at 163.95 and 164.05 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 30 paisas for buying and selling over last Friday's rates closing at 164.20 and 164.50 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR went up by one rupee for both buying and selling closing at 191 and 192.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 40 paisas for buying and 35 paisas for selling closing at 44.60 and 44.80 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 30 paisas for buying and selling closing at 43.40 and 43.60 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee witnessed divergent trend in the process of trading against the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Monday.
Following fluctuating demand and supply situation, the greenback observed volatile trend and closed for buying and selling at Rs 164.20 and Rs 165.40 against the previous closing rate of Rs 164.25 and Rs 165.25 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Likewise, the national currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 211.50 and Rs 213.00 against the Friday's closing Friday's closing trend of Rs 210.75 and Rs 213.25 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened at Rs165.30 (buying) and Rs165.40 (selling) against same last week's value.
It closed at Rs165.30 (buying) and Rs165.40 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs 115,300 (selling) and Rs115,100 (buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
