350 MMCF gas to be supplied to SSGC system in winter

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Energy Omar Ayub has said that plans have been made to discover new reserves to meet the country's energy demand and increase gas production.

In a meeting held under the auspices of the Council of All Pakistan Textile Exporters Association, Federal Minister Omar Ayub said that with the discovery of new reserves, local gas reserves are expected to increase in the next five years.

He said that 350 MMCF gas would be supplied to the SSGCL system to meet the gas shortage in the south due to the increasing demand for gas in the north in winter. Has sought the right of way from the Sindh government.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Petroleum Nadeem Babar has said that the impression that the federation wants reduction in gas supply to the provinces is not correct. In fact, the federation believes in the supply of gas across the country according to national demand and supply.

Omar Ayub and Nadeem Babar, taking interest in the existing facility of Karachi port, asked about the complaints received from the companies that due to delay, payment of damages has to be made which is a matter of concern for the companies. Chairman KPT explained that the reason was the reduction in the discharging rate.
