ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would lead a caravan of party leaders and workers from Lala Musa to attend the first anti-government public gathering on October 16 in Gujranwala under the banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Gujranwala is a PML-N stronghold and the necessary arrangements of venue and attendance would reportedly be its responsibility.
Secretary General PPP Parliamentarians Farhatullah Babar told Business Recorder on Monday that party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is scheduled to arrive in Punjab (Lala Musa) on October 15 and stay one night in the house of PPP Punjab president Qamar Zaman Kaira; he would be joined by convoys of PPP workers from Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujjar Khan and Jhelum.
Bilawal Bhutto will address party supporters in Wazirabad before reaching Gujranwala.
Babar added that convoys of party workers from Lahore, Sialkot and others cities and towns would also reach Gujranwala on October 16.
Babar said Maulana Fazlur Rehman as head of PDM would be the convener of the public meeting.
PDM has decided to launch a three-phased anti-government movement under an "action plan" starting with countrywide public meetings, protest demonstrations and rallies before a "decisive long march" towards Islamabad in January 2021.
