LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has alleged that Prime Minister's Advisor on Accountability Shahzad Akbar is targeting the detained Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif in the NAB custody.
"Shahzad Akbar was visiting the NAB office by disguising himself and changing vehicles," she said while talking to media on Tuesday. She claimed that cameras were installed in the cell and washroom used by Shehbaz while Shahzad Akbar has also ordered to remove the chair used by the PML-N president for daily prayers to make him sit on the floor for taking his food. She also revealed that Shehbaz got injured in the washroom the other day, reminding them that the condition of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif too had worsened in the NAB custody.
It may be noted that Shehbaz Sharif himself told accountability court the other day that he had a severe backache and he was being punished to complicate the problem at the behest of Imran Khan and Shahzad Akbar. She said the entire Gujranwala has become the venue of October 16 rally.
"The container-afflicted government won't be able to sabotage the public meeting through arrests, threats and prison."
She alleged that police in Gujranwala have started using traditional tactics and confiscating containers to block the city to sabotage the rally planned by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
On the other hand, the drivers of vehicles carrying containers said they were facing a difficult situation on roads since Monday night as the police snatched the keys of their trucks and trailers.
The police have confiscated most of the containers from Khiyali Bypass, Alam Chowk, Nawab Chowk and Qila Chanda Singh. On the other hand, PML-N MNA Abid Raza and Attaullah Tarar in a video message asked the party workers not to cancel a corner meeting and reached the venue despite the police raids.
They warned that they would siege the RPO and CPO offices if the police did not stop arresting the party workers. PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah said the October 16 would prove a referendum against the PTI government.
It is not just the PML-N which is active for the anti-government movement, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has also directed the party workers to focus on this movement and participate in Gujranwala rally. The PPP would also show its strength in this rally.
