LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto reached Punjab on Thursday afternoon to attend October 16 (today) public rally at Gujranwala.
The PPP Punjab Secretariat spokesman said the party chairman landed at Sialkot airport where a large crowd of party workers extended him a rousing welcome. Bilawal is due to stay in Lalamusa and will lead a rally to Gujranwala on Friday (today).
Earlier, the Punjab police intercepted a rally of PPP workers led by Qamar Zaman Kaira when it reached Sambarial Road, according to the information received from the PPP Punjab Secretariat. A heavy contingent of police blocked the road leading to Sialkot airport. Party workers raised slogans against the government as well as Punjab police for not allowing them to reach the airport.
