Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Saturday removed Riaz Hussain Pirzada as chief whip of the party in National Assembly for what the party says deviation from the party line.
PML-Q spokesman Senator Kamil Ali Agha confirming Pirzada's removal said the party had been showing restraint on the behavior of the member for long time but when it felt that he was hell-bent not to toe the party's guidelines, action against him became imperative.
"He'd have gone long, long ago but it was the party which had been showing soft corner for him and gave him ample time to mend his ways but he kept on violating the party discipline every now and then," he added.
He said that we are not a hurry and taking stock of the situation and if he crosses the floor, a reference will be sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for his disqualification.
"He will remain in the party if he did not violate the laid down rules of floor crossing...we are not in a hurry to sack him despite reservations and his behavior with the party.
