Ten more killed in Karachi

There was no let-up in targeted killing as 10 more persons including in-charge of Baqai School of Nursing Staff (BSNS) and a cop were killed in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis, here Saturday.
According to police and rescue sources, in-charge of BSNS namely Jamshed Khan, 62 son of Roshan Khan was gunned down near Annu Bhai Park in the limits of Nazimabad police station.
Police said the deceased received a bullet on his chest when he was on his way to home after work at Nazimabad No 2. Jamshed died on the spot.
Syed Jamal Faisal, 37, was shot dead in a drive-by shooting at Orangi Town. Police said the deceased, who was employed in Sindh High Court Bar Association, was cousin of MQM leader Manzar Imam. The victim was hit by two bullets and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Following the killing, tension prevailed in parts of Orangi Town where routine and commercial activities were partially suspended.
A container truck driver was gunned down while another sustained injuries at Landhi No. 4 in the limits of Awami Colony police station. Police said unidentified armed men opened fire on two trucks that left Fateh Sher, 30, son of Bahadur Sher killed and Hazrat Khan injured.
Jamal Baloch, 28, son of Moosa Baloch was killed while his brother, Jalil was injured at Daud Goth in the limits of Baldia Town police station.
Police said the incident took place at Daud Goth where the accused Khalid got engaged in a quarrel over illegal power connection that claimed Jamal's life.
Police said accused Khalid managed to flee but his brother Elahi Buksh has been arrested.
Jumman Shah, 35, son of Anwar Shah and his wife Nida, 30 were found dead at their residence in Katchi Abadi in Khokhrapar police limits.
Police said the deceased, who was a labourer by profession and hailed from Tando Mohammad Khan, eloped with Nida and got freewill marriage some 11 year ago.
Police suspected that they might have been murdered by family members of Nida and added that the victims left three children behind.
A young man, namely Shahzad Memon, 27, was killed near his home in Jamshed Quarters. DSP Qaiser Ali Shah said the deceased used to work as supervisor at a garment factory in SITE area. He said the victim was hit by seven bullets when he was on his way to home from work and added that the motive behind his murder was yet to be ascertained.
Bullet-riddled body of Abu Turab, 25 son of Sajjad Haider was found from Malir River in the jurisdiction of Memon Goth police station. The deceased, who was residing at Malir Jaffer Tayyar Society, was kidnapped and then murdered by unidentified men.
A week old body of a woman was found from Sikandar Goth in the limits of Sacchal police station. The body was taken to JPMC where doctors suggested that she died due to suffocation.
No case was registered till filing of this report.
A head constable Ghulam Raza was killed during an encounter took place at Hazara Chowk, Natha Khan Area in the limits of Shah Faisal Colony.
