ISLAMABAD: The number of countrywide Covid-19 cases has reached 322,417 with 6,628 deaths and 305,835 recoveries, the authorities reported. While worldwide cases of Covid-19 have reached 39 million, of which over a million have died, and over 27 million have recovered.
Authorities in Pakistan over the past 24 hours have reported 638 new cases cases, 442 recoveries and registered 12 deaths, according to the government's portal for tracking the spread of disease in the country; the recovery rate is 95 percent. Sindh has reported 225 new cases of Covid-19, raising the provincial tally to 141,474.
Moreover, the daily situation report issued by the CM's office confirmed the deaths of six more persons due to the virus. The death toll now stands at 2,574. Punjab has recorded 130 new cases and two deaths, during the last 24 hours.
The provincial total has risen to 101,367, while the death toll is 2,279. According to official data, Punjab has reported more than 100 cases for the past four consecutive days. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has reported 57 new coronavirus cases and one death, which took KP coronavirus patient tally to 38,521, and 1,265 deaths.
Balochistan has reported 22 new Covid-19 cases taking the provincial tally to 1,561 cases of which 146 have died. According to the District Health Officer Islamabad, the capital city has registered 100 cases on Friday, two deaths, and 71 recoveries.
Total number of cases in Islamabad has reached 17,781, while total deaths 193. Azad Jammu and Kashmir has reported 70 more cases and one death during the past 24 hours. Total cases in AJK reached 3,398 with 81 deaths, 2,592 recoveries, and 725 people are under treatment in the AJK. Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) has reported 34 new coronavirus cases, which has taken total to 4,016, while G-B has reported 90 Covid-19 deaths.
