Karachi on Saturday received light rain which turned the city's atmosphere pleasant and decreased the intensity of hot weather. However, with the beginning of the drizzling, many parts of the metropolis plunged into darkness. The Met Office warned that the heavy rainfall may increase chances of urban/flash flooding in upper Punjab and Dera Ghazi Khan Division in the next 24 hours.
It said heavy rain is likely to fall at isolated places of upper Punjab and Dera Ghazi Khan Division and warned that chances of urban/flash flooding cannot be ruled out in these areas.
It said thundershower associated with strong gusty winds is expected at scattered places of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, D G Khan, Multan, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu Divisions and Kashmir and in isolated place of D I Khan Division, lower Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan. Weather in Karachi is expected to remain partly cloudy with chances of light rain and temperature ranging between 34 degree centigrade and 36 degree centigrade.
