KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Monday took exception to the public meeting of the Opposition parties in Karachi and criticized the alleged "biased attitude" towards the metropolis as well as the Urdu language.
The MQM-P leaders at a press conference at the Bahadurabad Markaz of the party described the public meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) "an attempt to conceal corruption of member parties".
Khawaja Izharul Hassan said that the host and the guests of this public meeting were not from Karachi, and they didn't say anything on the issues of Karachi. "People of Karachi want to know what the objective of holding the meeting in Karachi was," he asked.
He also lambasted Mahmood Khan Achakzai for allegedly showing his bias against the Urdu language and pointed out that in the light of the sayings of the Quaid-e-Azam, "whoever misguides you about the national language is your enemy". He said that the expenses of the public meeting of the Opposition parties were borne by the provincial exchequer.
Faisal Sabzwari said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari talked about the 18th Amendment in Islamabad, but he forgot to implement it in Sindh. He also called for creation of a new province in Sindh. Another MQM-P leader, Muhammad Hussain, accused the Sindh government of manufacturing a food crisis in the province.
