BEIJING: Pakistani youngsters came out with outstanding performance in BRI 3rd Silk Road and Young Dreams competition held here, Gwadar Pro reported on Tuesday. The event was hosted by the Silk Road Cities Alliance, China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, Beijing Belt and Road Cooperative Community, and the Chongyang Research Institute for Financial Studies at the Renmin University of China.
Ahmed Farooq, Deputy Head of Mission in Pakistan Embassy Beijing attended the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners. With the theme "Health", "Youth", "Dream", "Silk Road" and "Peace", the 3rd Silk Road and Young Dreams competition aimed to show the characteristics of city, region and country, and to bring together young people along the Belt and Road.
"This event aimed at celebrating our youth. (To witness) how they came together, and how they were motivated is like celebrating our future." Ahmed Farooq stated while attending the award ceremony.
"Politics aside, this is about bringing our future generations closer, so when they 'take over', they will always value the common good of humanity in their heart, and work together, not to be isolated." he added.
Twenty Pakistani Students from Pakistan Embassy College Beijing (PECB) participated in the competition, during which many of them impressed judges with their talent in speech, photography, music, singing and sand painting, and secured prizes. Danish Yaqoob, a PECB student who studied western medicine had touched judges' heart with his message for the post-COVID19 world and won the 1st place in the speech competition.
