NA body briefed about working of FJA

ISLAMABAD: The director general (DG) Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) on Tuesday briefed the National Assembly Standing Committee on Law and Justice about the working and performance of the academy.

The Standing Committee on Law and Justice meeting held here under the chairmanship of Riaz Fatyana, MNA, to discuss the working and performance of the FJA. The Director General (DG) FJA, Hayat Ali Shah, while bring the panel, said that the judges were given an environment during the training, so that they did not come under pressure. Due to the paucity of time, the committee deferred further briefing till its next meeting.

The committee appreciated briefing of the DG FJA, and recommended that the budget provided to the academy should be used in such a manner as to obtain maximum benefit. The committee also appreciated the emotional and stress management courses launched by the academy.

It was also recommended that the academy should also introduce courses to strengthen the relationship between the Bar and the Bench. It was also recommended that for the awareness of general public the social/electronic media cell should also be established in the academy.
