KARACHI: On Thursday, on market close, PKR gained value against USD in both interbank and open markets while also gaining value against other major currencies in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, on market close, Pakistan Rupee gained 43 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 161.67 and 161.77 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 30 paisas for both buying and selling over last yesterday's rates closing at 162 and 162.30 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR went up by 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 190.50 and 192 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR went up by 15 paisas for buying and 5 paisas for selling closing at 44.25 and 44.55 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying and 5 paisas for selling closing at 42.90 and 43.10 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth in the process of trading against the greenback in the open currency market on Thursday.
Following lack of buyers' interest in the market, the greenback remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session and ended lower for buying and selling at Rs 162.00 and Rs 163.20 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 162.40 and Rs 163.50 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Moreover, the rupee stayed unchanged against the pound sterling for buying and closed at Rs 210.00 whereas it lost 20 paisas for selling and closed at Rs 212.00 against the opening rate of Rs 211.80, they added.
