ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has fined 641 VIPs including parliamentarians, diplomats, and bureaucrats, in the current year. According to data shared by the ITP, the VIPs fined during the ongoing year included 112 army officials, 197 government officials, 86 diplomats, 54 media persons, 52 members of the National Assembly (MNA)/members of the provincial assembly (MPAs), 47 judiciary officers, 24 senior police officers, and 16 senators.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ITP Farrukh Rasheed said that elimination of VIP culture and equal application of law were the operational codes of the ITP, which had become the model of excellence for all law enforcement agencies in the country. He said that performance of traffic police personnel was being reviewed continuously and every possible effort would be made to improve it.
