ISLAMABAD: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Friday said the Fund team and the Pakistani authorities remain closely engaged with a view to bringing the second review of the EFF to a positive conclusion.
This was stated by the resident representative of IMF Teresa Dabán Sánchez in response to a question asked by the Business Recorder that Pakistani government has officially asked the IMF for doing staff mission. She added that nothing new for the time being. I could only reiterate that the IMF team and the Pakistani authorities remain closely engaged with a view to bring the second review of the EFF to a positive conclusion. There is not envisaged any interaction with press during the discussions.
When contacted an official of finance ministry said that Pakistan has been holding meetings with the IMF but remained quite too question when the EFF programme would be resumed.
