The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has said that four terrorists were killed during a raid in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Friday night.
Balochistan home minister Zia Ullah Langau said that CTD conducted the raid by acting on an intelligence tip-off. As the security forces cordoned off the area, terrorists hiding in a compound opened fire.
During the heavy exchange of fire, two policemen were also injured, local media reported. In the encounter, two huge blasts also took place in the compound where the terrorists were hiding, CTD officials said. The CTD recovered suicide jackets, explosives, arms and ammunition from the hideout.
Langau has said that one of the terrorists was wanted by police and had a head money of Rs2 million.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has urged the Pakistan Democratic Movement to postpone its public meeting to be held in Quetta tomorrow, following CTD's warning. On Thursday, the CTD issued a security alert saying there was credible information about 'possibility of subversive activities'.
