Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Syed Munawar Hassan on Sunday asked the leaders of Pakistan Muslim-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to demonstrate solidarity with the people of Afghanistan and Fata practically, where, according to him, the US has been carrying out indiscriminate manslaughter of the innocent civilians including men, women and children.
He stated this while addressing a rally against the government decision to reopen Nato supply routes here on Sunday, which was taken out from Boulton Market to Keamari.
Hassan said that the PML-N and the PTI had been very vocal against the restoration of Nato supply routes, so they should also take to street against the decision. "So far both the parties have confined their opposition to the restoration of Nato supplies to verbal gesture," he added.
"Their failure to take to streets against the decision would raise questions and the nation would be justified to question the leaders of the two parties as to what prevented them to keep their promises they had made with the nation?" he added.
The JI chief said that hidden forces from inside and outside Pakistan were hell bent to destabilize the country.
He said that JI and the nation were against the signing of MoU with the US because the MoU would mean the subjugation of the nation.
"The Pakistani government should not proceed on the MoU until the US agreed to stop its drone operations inside Pakistan," Munwar urged.
He demanded of the government to quit the US-led war on terror, as the war was against the Muslims and Islam.
Hassan said that conspiracies were being hatched against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country, as hidden forces had joined hands for the purpose.
He asked the US to immediately stop violating the sovereignty of Pakistan through unchecked drone attacks, leaving thousands of civilian dead. "It was our moral and religious obligation to resist the decision of reinforcing the Nato forces in Afghanistan with supplies for the massacre of the innocent Muslims of Afghanistan," he added.
He said that the nation was both mentally and physically prepared to fight away the conspirators and enemies of the country for which they had taken to the streets. He vowed to carry on the struggle against the US atrocities, saying that the JI would also try to get rid of the present pro-US government.
He said that the government had rejected 40 resolutions of the Parliament, adding that any government that refuses to accept the orders of the apex court, rejects parliament's resolutions could not be declared a democratic government.
JI Sindh Chief Asadullah Bhutto in his speech said that the present rulers of the country had put the sovereignty of the country at stake by becoming ally of the United States, which had ruined the economy of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Hussain Mahenti said that the government of Pakistan had awarded a license to kill the innocent Muslims of Afghanistan by restoring Nato supply lines. He said that the United States was carrying out genocide of the innocent Muslims in Afghanistan. Secretary General JI Karachi Naseem Siddiqui, former MPA Nasrullah Shaji, Raja Arif Sultan and others also spoke.
