Local residents are said to have thwarted a robbery bid, killing an alleged robber and detaining two of his accomplices in a locality here on Sunday noon. The incident occurred in Haseeb Shaheed Colony on the Sitiana Road.
According to eyewitnesses, four armed bandits tried to forcibly enter a house, but they faced severe reaction of the local people who opened fire on the criminals, killing one of the would-be robbers. A police team rushed to the spot and arrested two other bandits with the help of the local people.
